For the past 25 years, one of my professional goals has been to be published in New American Paintings. As an artist, I felt that being featured in this prestigious publication would validate my work and affirm its relevance in the contemporary art world. After years of applying and facing rejection, you can imagine my elation when I was selected for the 2024 Midwest Review. To me, this moment represents the highest honor of my artistic career.

The Midwest Review was curated by Rosario Güiraldes, the newly appointed Curator of Visual Arts at the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis. She selected my work from over 1,000 submissions. Originally scheduled for release in August/September 2024, the issue was delayed due to scheduling and economic factors to keep the magazine afloat, but it will now be available starting March 12.
