Opening Night Reception: Thursday, June 12. 6-8PM.
The exhibition was conceived as an opportunity to highlight the work of Ox Bow’s summer instructors, thus giving form to the current ideas and approaches that are pervasive throughout Ox-Bow’s campus and studios today. They will share stories of the current Ox-Bow community, e.g. trends, ideas, concepts, and projects that help the viewer understand our contemporary vision and mission. Works in this show will include painting and drawing, glass, ceramics, metals, new media, print media, and more.
Many people think of Ox-Bow in terms of its history in the Saugatuck/Douglas area, but it is also a place where contemporary art thrives, and future cultural developments emerge. Because of Ox-Bow, artists from all over the globe have spent time in the Saugatuck/Douglas area, and think of the time that was spent in this region as a pivotal to their thinking and production.
